Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi
Province, is located in the heart of the Guanzhong Basin, with the
Weihe River running along the northern border of the city. It is
the largest metropolis in northwestern China. Known as Chang'an
in ancient China, Xi'an is a world-renowned ancient capital.
For 1,062 years beginning in the 11th century B.C., Xi'an was the
capital of 13 dynasties including the Western Zhou, Qin, Western
Han, Eastern Han, Sui, and Tang. The continuous dynastic occupation
kept the city beautiful and magnificent. More than two hundred and
seventy palaces and temples were built during its heyday, such as
the "Three Han Palaces" in the Han dynasty, namely Changle, Weiyang,
Jianzhang Palaces, and numerous other palaces and watch towers.
The most well known among these is the Tomb of Emperor Qin Shihuang,
with the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses. Xi'an is also the starting
point of the ancient Silk Road.
Xi’an, cradle of Chinese civilization,
is home to the ancient capital of 13 dynasties. Many splendid ancient
civilizations fostered here have left with the city enormous cultural
heritages. Substantial cultural relics like stone tablets, classical
books, paintings, music, museum and drama have provided ample information
and resource for the shaping of unique cultural produces of Xi’an.
The three ancient city parks
in Qujiang District are perfect for tourists who want to enjoy outdoor
experience. One-thousand-year-old Qujiang garden is most representative
of Chinese ancient landscape garden. Built in Qin and Han dynasties,
it flourished in Sui and Tang dynasties. Qujiang pool, Tang City
Wall and Tang Ci’en Temple are the three park remains that reveal
the splendor of Qin, Han, Sui and Tang dynasties. Lawns, bridges
and lakes display the natural beauty under the heaven. It is acclaimed
to be an exemplary park for the combination of classical and modem
elements and the co-existence between human and nature.
Experiencing the
Prosperity of the Ancient Capital
Large-scale Motorcade Parade
of the Thirteen Dynasties of the Ancient Capital shown in Tang Paradise
is a great event. Capitalizing on the rich cultural heritage of
Xi’an and the modern technology, it tried to recreate in perfection
the prosperity of the thirteen dynasties whose capitals were in
Xi’an. With the modern technology and beauty theory, it demonstrates
for the audience the historical changes in Zhou, Qin, Han, Tang
dynasties and the splendid culture of Chinese nation.
“Return Back to Tang Dynasty
in the Dream”- A Poetic Tang dynasty Show
“Return Back to Tang Dynasty
in the Dream” staged in Tang Paradise is a magnificent, enchanting
and cheerful theme show which marks the highest-level of Tang singing
and dancing.
Xian's Tang
City Wall Park is 3.6kilometers long and 100 meters wide with a
total investment of 500 million Yuan. To the east is Qujiang Pool
and to the north is Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The park introduces the
famous poets and rich connotation of Tang poems by means of calligraphies,
sculptures, paintings and handicrafts. It is a cultural corridor
that integrates poems, philosophy, aesthetics, and ecology.
